Hello Neighbor SAV was an art project organized by Lisa Rundstrom in 2019. Drawing from Savannah's rich history of Civil Rights activism through community groups and local churches as well partnerships with LGBTQ+ groups, artists, mentoring and educational groups (It became a community non-profit from 2020 -23).
After the completion of the initial community building event Hello Neighbor SAV formed as a non-profit aspired to restart an inactive Holly Heights neighborhood association, community gardens and rebuild community connection in Holly Height and throughout the city of Savannah through community celebration events.
The work continues as an active Holly Heights Neighborhood Association and Daffin Heights Community Garden. The impact continues through active coalitions such as the Weeping Time Coalition, Weeping Time Cultural Heritage Corridor Authority and partnerships with groups such as Unity in the Community, SKT Center for Jubilee, and IW Cheever Vision Foundation (assisting organization with the Yamacraw and other Residents Councils). It survives through similar events created by partners, and through the Georgia House Bills it has sponsored and lobbied for.
Additional community organization continues via email and the online communities such as the
Hello Neighbor Facebook group where members share events happening in and around Savannah GA.
